1)  Are the foreclosure properties currently available. Many online website have millions of properties listed. Yet, after doing a little due diligence, you can find that they are old property listings used to prop up their numbers. The best idea is to chose a few area homes through your online search and drive by the house. Check for 'for sale' signs and any needed repairs that may be visible.

2)   Most counties have property records online.  You can learn more about the foreclosure properties you are interested in. You can confirm bedrooms/baths, square footage, along with taxes paid and last sale dates.

3)  Target foreclosure homes whose online listing don't include photos. The majority of people looking for homes are willing to put in the extra work of visiting properties.  They want virtual tours, full descriptions, etc.  You will find hat homes without online pictures are rarely visited and that greatly improves your chances of getting a profitable deal.  .

4) Keep at it!   People give up, because of the lack of information and the ratty homes they saw lists they have receive from online services.   If it was that easy to find great foreclosure buys, everyone would be grabbing them.  Stick with and you will be rewarded!.

5)  Stick to your area.  There are many reasons to stay local.  Since you are local, you know the good from bad areas.  You also what areas have the best potential for appreciation by simply living in the area. You see by reading the local papers and know what areas are being revitalized by cities.  Local foreclosure properties offer unlimited profits for the determined investor.
